Quick Economic Recap

Posted by Jordan Crouch on March 3, 2008

Wow! Monday is almost gone. Where did today go? Here are quick few economic observations.

  •  Spreads on commercial loans are continuing to widen: Conduits are in the 400 basis points range, Fannie and Freddie are in the low to mid 200s and life insurance companies are in the mid to high 200s.
  •  The Federal Reserve (basically) announced last week that they will lower the Fed Funds rate at their meeting March 18.
  •  The dollar is getting weaker, the price of oil is rising and the stock market is declining on. Are there still doubts we are in a recession?
